Roots \ Racines–Works from the Garance Primat Collection | Œuvres de la Collection Garance Primat
The Collection Garance Primat is housed at Domaine des Étangs in Charente-Limousine — a place defined by the relationship between man and nature. The book is structured around seven words proposed by author Bérengère Baucher to shape the selection of artworks from Primat’s collection: Create, One, Territory, Nature, Human, Matrix, Origin. Paper becomes the primary structuring device in the book. In keeping with the collection’s environmental concerns, introductory texts are printed on Mohawk Options 100% recycled uncoated stock. Each of the seven sections opens with a sheet of Reflex IBO 60gsm — thin, opaque, printed in duotone — pairing a landscape image from the Domaine with a corresponding starscape, drawing the artworks into their surroundings. Three typefaces carry distinct roles: Fact Pro lends the labels a researched precision; GT Super supports the literary quality of Baucher’s essays; Alto Mono Pro reintroduces the key words directly into the layout. Artwork pages are printed on GardaPat Chiara 150gsm, with Sirio Colour Green and Blu endpapers and a Wibalin Natural cover. The books is printed 4×4 colours throughout, with specialist handling for full ink coverage on the 60gsm section dividers.
