Cosmic Garden emerges from an exchange between Indian artists Madhvi Parekh and Manu Parekh and the Chanakya School of Craft — a non-profit institution committed to the emancipation of women through craft — presented as a collateral event of the 60th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia. Reading this project meant understanding how the painters’ and sculptors’ work doesn’t simply inspire the embroideries that follow: it transforms into them, giving rise to a third, interdisciplinary medium. The book holds that transformation in sequence — paintings and sculptures alongside process images from Chanakya’s craftspeople, texts by the exhibition curators, and a closing visual essay of the Venice installation itself. Literata, used in accordance with the Chanakya School of Craft’s brand guidelines, sets all text. Printed 4×4 on GardaPat Kiara 150gsm, with a Dutch binding in Wibalin Natural and Sirio Colour Yellow endpapers.
